Taking walk at Turnbull is for the birds

Join expert birder Marian Frobe from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday at the Turnbull Wildlife Refuge. Meet at the refuge headquarters.

It’s an opportunity to see which resident and migrant birds, and other wildlife, are prevalent during the summer months.

There may be surprises because of the unusually dry winter.

Attendees may want to bring a lunch in case the walk runs a little longer than expected or you want to extend your visit.

Donations are encouraged to support the education programs on the refuge.

Call Marian Frobe at 328-0621 for more information.

SPA ‘Doing It’ project

The Spokane Preservation Advocates’ July “Doing It” project will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church at 25th and Grand Boulevard.

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The paint is donated by Columbia Paint and Coatings.

Please RSVP by calling Ann Cronkhite at 747-7239.
