YOUR BEAUTIFUL HOME
306 W. Graves Road, Spokane
Once Craig and Shellie Fetchos’ children had grown and moved out of their 1914 Craftsman home on Graves Road, they decided it was time to do some long-anticipated work on the house.
So they added a porch – a really big porch.
It took about three years for Craig and a friend to transform what used to be a modest concrete landing outside the front door into a massive deck that is now the pride and joy of the Fetcho home.
“For 20 years we knew it needed a porch, but that’s what we ended up with,” Craig says.
They were careful to match the porch to the home, and used beams they pulled from a salvage yard.
Craig says the model of the cedar shake-sided home is sometimes referred to as a California Bungalow.
The large yard that surrounds the 1,500 square-foot home is dotted with 130-year-old Ponderosa pines and a few spruce, cedar, hemlock, black walnut, mountain ash and chestnut trees.
