Bryner bags Bend
BEND, Ore. – Jay Bryner (1-3) pitched a complete-game six-hitter, striking out 10, as the Spokane RiverHawks defeated the Bend Elks 8-3 Friday night to open a three-game series in West Coast Collegiate League baseball.
Sam Hall and Nick Froman had three hits apiece for the RiverHawks (4-14), who are 3-0 against Bend (8-12) this season. Spokane snapped a six-game losing streak.
The teams will continue their series tonight and Sunday night.
