Name: Jeff Smith, 44.

Occupation: Financial advisor with Edward Jones.

Hometown: South Bend, Ind. Jeff and his family now live in Twin Lakes and he works in Rathdrum. He has been in Idaho eight years.

Family: Wife, Julie; son, Kale, 16, and two daughters, Lizann, 14, and Raegen, 11.

Pets: Cats. Jeff hates cats.

Hobbies: Fishing, boating and backpacking.

What Jeff is reading now: “Lossing’s Complete History of the United States,” printed in 1889. He enjoys collecting and reading old books. “History is all written from perspective, so the closer you are to events, it is a different perspective,” Jeff said. He said the book talks about every president up to Teddy Roosevelt.

Music preferences: He likes classic rock and just about everything else except “angst-ridden” music.

Favorite foods: Italian and Asian, primarily Chinese.

Travel plans: The family will vacation in New York and the Caribbean.

What he likes best about North Idaho: The people, the sunshine, rain, snow, cold…everything!
