Home raid nets pills, cash

The Spokesman-Review

Detectives seized methadose pills, heroin and cash Friday when they raided a Spokane Valley home.

Detective Mike Ricketts developed information during a recent investigation that methadose, a controlled substance that requires a prescription, was being sold at a Spokane Valley home, Reagan said. More than 150 pills and $5,000 cash were found during the raid as well as the heroin.

Denise Fern Tipke, 51, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, one for each drug, Spokane County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Cpl. Dave Reagan said. She was booked into Spokane County Jail.

Dirty low-down crooks

Spokane Valley police are seeking the public’s help in finding out who stole a power washer from a local business.

Between 4 and 5 a.m. Saturday, a thief cut the padlock from a gate at McCleary Heating, 6507 E. Mallon Ave., Reagan said. The power washer was removed from a trailer stored on the lot.

Anyone with information regarding the theft is asked to call 242-8477.

Meth found during arrest

Spokane Valley police arrested a 36-year-old transient early Sunday after he was seen in a stolen truck.

Officers found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during a search of the vehicle, Reagan said. Kevin Martin was charged with second-degree possession of stolen property and possession of meth.

About 4:40 a.m., an officer decided to check the license plate of a Ford pickup stopped next to it at Argonne Road and Trent Avenue, Reagan said. When the officer discovered it had been reported stolen, he and other officers stopped the vehicle.

The truck’s owner told police his vehicle was taken by a man while he was in a restroom and the man refused to return it.

The meth was found in a fanny pack inside the truck with other items including syringes, a glass drug pipe and court documents belonging to Martin, Reagan said.
