County library district redesigns its Web site

The Spokane County Library is unveiling its new Web site, www.scld.org.

While the address hasn’t changed, the new site will provide customers with a more effective and user-friendly online library resource.

The district contracted with IPowerPlant, a local Web design firm, late last year. IPowerPlant worked with the district to come up with a complete site makeover with the goal of making it a better tool for all library customers.

The new site will offer an updated section for personal accounts, including recommended reading, as well as easier access to readers’ advisory, calendar listings for programs and library events, and catalog search and information databases.

The Spokane County Library District operates 10 branch libraries outside the city of Spokane, including Airway Heights, Argonne, Cheney, Deer Park, Fairfield, Medical Lake, Moran Prairie, north Spokane, Otis Orchards and Spokane Valley.

Through a reciprocal agreement with the Spokane Public Libraries, library services are provided at no charge to residents of each service area.
