YOUR BEAUTIFUL HOME

15710 S. Cheney-Spokane Road, Cheney

When Shirley Foien wrote to describe this unique 20-year-old house which now belongs to her son and his family she wrote: “I would like to nominate our family home.”

The contemporary, many-windowed Cheney home, built by Shirley’s husband Clair Foien, who died four years ago, was designed by Spokane architect Bruce Albertus. It was constructed over an existing foundation.

The house is built into an earthen berm on the north side, with the main portion and a daylight basement facing south. It sits on seven acres and is surrounded by a wide lawn.

After her husband’s death, Foien sold the house to her son Brad, who intends to pass it on one day to his young son, Eric.

“Much love has gone into this home and I could never have left it to anyone but family,” Foien wrote. “You might say it is a legacy of love.”
