Molly Michaud has been hired at Blue541 as an account executive. She previously worked at WhiteRunkle and holds a master’s degree in English from the University of Idaho.

Klundt Hosmer has hired Ashley Thayer as an account coordinator. She recently graduated from Gonzaga University with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and completed an internship at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital.

Lewis & Clark College has hired Philip Akers as vice president for institutional advancement. He previously worked as vice president for university advancement and president of the foundation at Eastern Washington University.

Mary Guderjohn has been hired as a real estate agent at Exit Real Estate-Jones & Associates. She previously worked at Keller Williams North.

Exit Real Estate-Jones & Associates has hired Jeff Karger Jr. as a real estate agent. He previously served in the U.S. Army.

Yacht Club Sales and Service at Blackwell Island in Coeur d’Alene has hired Paul Nielsen as director of sales. He is a graduate of the College of Southern Idaho and previously worked as sales manager at Trudeau’s Marina.

Kerry Blair has been hired as a home loan consultant at the North Division branch of Countrywide Home Loans. He previously worked at the Spokane Central office of John L. Scott Real Estate.

Exit Real Estate-Jones & Associates has hired Robert McClellan as a real estate agent. He previously worked at Keller Williams North.

PROMOTED

Mountain West Bank has promoted Holly Chiappe to branch manager of the bank’s Post Falls branch. She has been in the banking industry for eight years and has been with Mountain West Bank since 2002.

Lisa Cargill has been promoted to account executive at Desautel Hege Communications. She previously worked as an account coordinator and has been with the company since 2003. Cargill is a graduate of Eastern Washington University.

Sterling Savings Bank has promoted Ric Bryant to assistant vice president. He has been with the bank since 1999 and previously worked as a business banker. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Washington State University.

Dodi Rode has been promoted to associate state director of the Small Business Development Centers hosted by Washington State University. She previously worked as assistant state director and has been with the organization since 2004.

KUDOS

Irene Matthews has been awarded the Dominic Allessio Employee of the Quarter award from Global Credit Union. She has been with the credit union for seven years.

Kai Tantlinger has received the Caregiver of the Quarter Award for the state of Washington by Kelly Home Care Services.

The American Gas Association has recognized Avista Corp. as one of 12 U.S. energy utility companies for its achievements in operations safety. The company had the lowest disability injury and illness rates among large combination electric and natural gas companies.

Ryan Bair of Ephrata, Wash., has completed the Management Development Program of Schwan’s Home Service. He is now working as a sales supervisor for the company and is a graduate of Brigham Young University in Rexburg, Idaho.

Kootenai Electric Cooperative has received two Awards of Excellence from the Council of Rural Electric Communicators. The company received an award in the categories of Best Annual Report and Best Special Publication.

Maj. Gen. Timothy Lowenberg has received the C. David Gordon Award for Outstanding Civic Achievement from the Association of Washington Business.

Spokane Falls Community College is changing the name of its hearing instrument specialist program to the Rulon Center for Hearing Instrument Studies. The name reflects that of Dr. J. Thomas Rulon, an ear, nose and throat specialist who helped the school develop the program and has volunteered every winter quarter since 1999 to teach the program’s auditory disorders class.

ELECTED/APPOINTED

Michael Burke, president at North Idaho College, has been elected to serve on the board of directors of the American Association of Community Colleges. He will serve a two-year term.

GIFTS

Sterling Savings Bank has pledged to donate $12,000 to sponsor a home for the Habitat for Humanity Spokane Blitz Build. Staff members of the bank will also participate in the 18-day event.
