Crews still seeking missing Boy Scout

Associated Press

PARK CITY, Utah – Search-and-rescue crews continued combing rugged mountains Sunday for an 11-year-old Boy Scout missing since Friday. He was on a camping trip with a friend.

Brennan Hawkins last was seen Friday at a campground where he was struggling to remove gear near a wall for rock climbers. At the same time, a campground employee saw the boy’s friend walking down a dirt road toward his family’s campsite nearby.

The employee looked away and then did not see the two boys, the Summit County Sheriff’s Department said.

About 1,000 searchers on foot, horseback and all-terrain vehicles combed the mountainous area Saturday about 100 miles northeast of Salt Lake City.
