Hamblen Presbyterian adds midweek service

Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, 4102 S. Crestline Ave., is adding a weekly service to its schedule.

On Wednesdays at 7 p.m. through the end of the year, the church will include Scripture from the preceding Sunday services.

The church also will offer sign language interpretation and child care.

Worship concert

Annie Herring and Matthew Ward will perform a concert of worship on Sunday at 6 p.m. at Calvary Chapel of Spokane, 511 W. Hastings Road.

The two have been singing songs of praise and God’s love together for nearly 30 years.

Children’s story time

The Lutheran Book Parlor, 1414 W. Broadway Ave., is hosting a summer story time on Thursdays starting today and running through July 28 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Children ages 4 through 10 are invited.

Story times are free, but registration is required.

Vacation Bible school safaris

“ Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 7307 N. Nevada St., is hosting vacation Bible school for children ages 3 through the sixth grade starting today and running through July 1 from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

This year’s theme is Safari Adventure vacation Bible school and will include Bible study, music, crafts and games.

“ Northwood Presbyterian Church, 6721 N. Monroe St., is presenting “Kingdom of the Son: a Prayer Safari” for children age 4 through the sixth grade from Sunday through Thursday.

The classes will begin Sunday at 5 p.m. with a picnic, games and surprises in the parking lot of the church.

Classes will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m., and dinner will be served.

While the children are in class, adults are invited to attend a class with the Rev. John Bristow, who will discuss “What Paul Really Said About Women.”

The cost is a $1 donation for the food.

“ Fourth Memorial Church, 2000 N. Standard St., is hosting “Kingdom of the Son” vacation Bible school starting Monday and running through next Friday from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Children in the first through sixth grades are invited to watch skits, make crafts and play games.
