YOUR BEAUTIFUL HOME

The home of Paul and Suzanne Mack on North Indian Bluff Road overlooks Spokane. The home's modern style makes it stand out from the natural landscape.

Paul Mack is an attorney, so he was a little too busy to be on site all the time contractors were building his dream home on a high ridge northwest of Spokane about two years ago.

But he kept an eye on their progress.

“I could see it from my office downtown,” Paul says. “I had a telescope on it and I could see people up there working on it.”

It stands out pretty well on its own. The house is painted in shade henna – an unusual reddish color – and built with a curved roof like one Paul once saw on an Australian home in an issue of Architectural Digest.

All the floors are taupe-colored concrete dotted with Oriental rugs, and the Macks have a black infinity-edge pool that flows over the side into a gutter, circulating the water.

Paul and his wife Suzanne have encouraged natural landscaping around their 3,000-square-foot home by using pasture mix, native plants and basalt rock.
