Cruise stars in ‘War’ remake

Tom Cruise stars as a man trying to protect his son and daughter against invading aliens in Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of H.G. Wells’ novel “War of the Worlds,” which opens nationwide on Wednesday. In other movie news, “Rockin’ the Corps,” a concert movie featuring groups such as KISS and Ted Nugent serenading Marines at Camp Pendleton, will play at 7 p.m. Monday only, at NorthTown Mall Cinemas.
