Dine out, help feed seniors

A dozen area restaurants are helping in the battle against hunger for senior citizens.

On Thursday, Valley restaurants will donate a portion of their total sales to Valley Meals on Wheels, an organization that delivers meals to more than 600 Valley residents.

Participating restaurants include Jenny’s Cafe, Applebee’s Neighborhood Bar and Grill, Peking Palace Chinese Restaurant, O’Doherty’s Irish Pub, Staggering Ox, Cuppa Joe’s, Hula Hut Grill, Flamin’ Joes, Godfather’s Pizza, Buck’s Pizza, Casa de Oro, International House of Pancakes, Azteca and Percy’s Cafe Americana.

The local campaign is part of a nationwide effort to raise awareness and funds for agencies that feed seniors.
