The Cheney-Medical Lake office of Tomlinson Black has hired Shannon Pelley to specialize in horse property. Pelley is a graduate of Central Washington University with a degree in business.

Dean Anderson has been hired as an associate broker at the Cheney-Medical Lake office of Tomlinson Black. Anderson has 14 years of real estate experience and previously owned Pioneer Realty in Davenport, Wash.

Northwestern Mutual Financial Network has hired Zach Schafer as a financial representative. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political economics from the University of Washington and previously worked in the beverage distribution industry.

David Miller has been hired at Northwestern Mutual Financial Network as a financial representative. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwest College in Kirkland, Wash., and previously worked at New Life Church and in the auto industry.

Northwestern Mutual Financial Network has hired Liz Commeree as assistant director of development. Commeree holds degrees in business and management from Washington State University.

Kootenai Medical Center has expanded its chaplain services to seven days a week and has hired Jennifer James as a second chaplain. James holds a master’s degree in pastoral ministry from Gonzaga University.

John Overby has been hired as director of North Idaho College’s Idaho Small Business Development Center. Overby is a co-founder of World Wide Packets and holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Idaho.

Riverview Retirement Community has hired Paul Childers as general manager of dining services. He was previously the executive chef at C.I. Shenanigan’s, Sam’s on Regal and was part of the culinary management team for the opening of the Davenport Hotel.

Coldwell Banker Northwest Group has hired Joe Holland as a residential specialist. He has over 14 years of experience in manufactured home sales and previously worked in the computer industry.

Janice Baldwin, first vice president at Merrill Lynch, has been named to the Charles E. Merrill Club in recognition for performance and outstanding service to clients.

Center Partners has won the Gold MVP Quality Award from Customer Inter@ction Solutions Magazine. The company is a call-center outsourcer with a branch office in North Idaho and has received this recognition for three years consecutively.

Virgil Smith of the Eastern Washington General office of New York Life Insurance has been named Rookie Agent of the Year. He is a graduate of the University of Idaho and qualified four times for Rookie Agent of the Month in 2004.

The Chartered Financial Analysts Society of Spokane has announced four new C.F.A. designations. They are: Weiling Zhu, vice president and chief investment officer at Western United Life Assurance Co.; Christopher Harper, a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force; Brian Brill of Washington Trust Bank; Anthony Bennett, a principal and portfolio manager at Sigma Capital Management; and Dean Kiefer, an assistant professor of finance at Eastern Washington University.
