Holland third in World Cup
TANDADALEN, Sweden – Nate Holland of Sandpoint, Idaho, finished third in the overall World Cup snowboardcross standings after a fourth-place finish in the season’s final event Thursday.
Xavier Delerue of France secured the overall title by winning. Jasey Jay Anderson, who trailed Delerue by 245 points before the event, finished second on the men’s side, with Delerue’s brother Paul-Henri grabbing third place in front of Holland.
With the win, Delerue clinched the season title with 4,020 points, ahead of Anderson with 3575.7. Holland was third with 2547.6 points.
Holland, who trains out of Squaw Valley, Calif., won an event in Spain last week and was fourth at Lake Placid, N.Y., two weeks ago.
