NIUU plans tribute to St. Patrick with Celtic music
The North Idaho Unitarian Universalist Church presents a family concert of Celtic music tonight featuring Arvid Lundin and Deep Roots. The tribute to St. Patrick begins at 7:30 p.m. at Harding Family Center at 15th and Wallace in Coeur d’Alene. Refreshments will be served. Choir cantata presentation
Lutheran Church of the Master in Coeur d’Alene presents two choir cantata presentations of “Easter Trilogy,” at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Palm Sunday at the church at 4800 Ramsey Road.
The three suites with an introit, “Blessed is He,” and benediction, “Empty is the Tomb,” are a musical performance of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection featuring music that conveys the mood of each scriptural scene.
On Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m. the church presents the drama, “Remembrance,” a portrayal of a young girl’s ritual recollection of her father, which leads listeners to remember the Lord’s last supper with his disciples. Holy Communion follows.
On Good Friday there is a Tenebrae Service of Darkness and Candles at 7 p.m., which follows the passion and crucifixion of Christ in final preparation for celebration of the resurrection.
Christian Evidences Night
Real Life Ministries invites the community to Christian Evidences Night Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the RLM 2 auditorium at 1866 N. Cecil Road in Post Falls. Youth group performing
Community Presbyterian Church presents the high-energy performance of The Young Continentals at 7 p.m. at the church, 417 N. William St.
This youth ministry troupe features 22 dancers, singers and technicians between the ages of 12 and 15. The group uses music, drama, choreography and personal testimony to promote Jesus Christ as the only absolute in an ever-changing world. Carnival at First Assembly
The Coeur d’Alene First Assembly of God Church is offering fun for the whole family with a carnival and community candy hunt next Saturday at Borah Elementary School, 632 Borah Ave. The event begins with registration at 9:30 a.m. and lasts until 2:30 p.m. The candy hunt starts at 11 a.m. and a complimentary lunch will follow. Activities include an inflatable jump castle, puppet show, obstacle course, face painting and free drawings for bicycles and stuffed animals.
Easter week services
Community United Methodist Church, 1470 W. Hanley Ave., offers three services for Easter Week, beginning with Palm Sunday services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. The youth ministry will be singing and handing out palm fronds in remembrance of Christ’s triumphant arrival in Jerusalem.
Holy Thursday Service at 7 p.m. will be a unique combination service symbolizing the foot-washing and sacrament of Holy Communion. Good Friday evening service will be at 7 p.m. and will emphasize the seven last words of Jesus. For information, call 765-8800.
