“You Can’t Take It With You”

The eccentric Sycamore family takes the stage in the St. George’s School production of “You Can’t Take It with You.” Their philosophy that people should do whatever makes them happy is a recipe for comic mayhem. So while Mother writes plays and Father makes fireworks in the basement, their daughter Alice tries to explain her unconventional family to her conventional prospective in-laws.

Directed by Jeanne Hardie, performances are at 7 tonight and Friday in Founders Theater on the school campus, 2929 W. Waikiki Road. All performances are free.

An added attraction is the opening of an art exhibit of ceramic works, paintings and drawings by St. George’s high school students in the school’s Gilbert Art Gallery. An opening reception for the exhibit will be at 6 p.m. Friday. The exhibit runs through April 15.
