Vandals’ record play falls short
The Idaho women’s golf team set a pair of records en route to a second-place finish Sunday in the Mountain View Collegiate at Mountain View Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz.
The Vandals finished the 54-hole tournament with a total of 880, which beat the team record for a three-round tournament by eight strokes.
Idaho also shot a 290 Sunday, which is a single-round record.
Northwestern won the team title, finishing with a total of 870. Sophomore Cassie Castleman led Idaho with a second-place individual finish. Castleman shot a 70 to finish with a 211, two shots behind Louisville’s Meghan Little, who finished at 7-under-par 209.
Freshman Renee Skidmore was fourth at 212 after shooting a personal-best 68 Sunday.
