Cougs’ next recruiting class begins with Rosenberg
Bellevue High junior Keith Rosenberg has orally committed to Washington State University, unofficially making him the first member of the 2006 football recruiting class.
Rosenberg had visited WSU on the school’s junior day, which coincided with the last day of spring practices.
Rosenberg was a secondary running back on last year’s State 3A championship team, but this fall should be the Wolverines’ primary offensive threat with J.R. Hasty’s graduation.
Although he served as second fiddle in 2004, Rosenberg amassed 11 touchdowns and 740 rushing yards on just 43 carries. That included three TD runs of 36 yards or more in the title game against Ferndale. He was also the leading receiver in his team’s ground-based attack, catching four passes for 127 yards.
The 6-foot, 180-pounder will use those skills and play wideout for WSU, most likely as a slot receiver. His commitment is nonbinding and, like all others, doesn’t become official until national signing day in February.
