Jay Leno testifies at Michael Jackson trial

Associated Press

SANTA MARIA, Calif. – Jay Leno stopped making fun of Michael Jackson just long enough to testify for the pop star at his child molestation trial Tuesday, saying that he grew suspicious of effusive and seemingly scripted phone calls from Jackson’s young accuser.

The “Tonight Show” host’s account of calls from the boy came before Chris Tucker took the stand and defense attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. told the court that the “Rush Hour” star would be the last witness – indicating Jackson will not testify.

Jackson refused to comment on whether or not he would take the stand.
