Principals are on the move

Look for new faces at the principal’s helm in several Spokane Public Schools next fall.

Carole Meyer, principal of Havermale High School, will become principal at Rogers High School. Meyer has been at Havermale for the past year.

Before that she was an assistant principal at Ferris. Meyer also has been a counselor and special education teacher.

She replaces Wallace Williams, who will be on special assignment next year.

Mary Perrizo-Weber, principal assistant at Finch and Audubon elementary schools, will serve as principal of Adams Elementary School.

Perrizo-Weber has worked in education for 22 years and is in her 12th year with Spokane Public Schools. She also has taught mathematics and has served as a mathematics trainer in the past.

Julie Perron, principal of Midway Elementary School in the Mead School District, will take over as principal of Grant Elementary.

Perron has taught at the elementary level and has been a specialist at the secondary level. She is in her 15th year in education.

Cathy Comfort will be the principal of Westview Elementary. This year she is the principal at Balboa Elementary.

Steve Indgjerd will be principal at Willard Elementary. He is now the principal at Grant.

Flumo receives Liberty Bell Award

Marsilius Flumo, a science teacher at Rogers High School, has been selected as Spokane County Bar Association’s 2005 Liberty Bell Award recipient.

The honor acknowledges Flumo’s understanding and respect for the law and courts, and encourages and exemplifies a sense of civic responsibility.
