Blue Jays 6, Red Sox 1: At Toronto, Ted Lilly, Vinnie Chulk and Justin Speier combined on a four-hitter, and Toronto beat Boston to hand Bronson Arroyo his first loss in 18 starts.

Indians 3, Twins 2 (10): At Cleveland, Travis Hafner’s bloop single scored pinch-runner Ronnie Belliard from second with two outs in the 10th inning to give Cleveland a victory over Minnesota.

Devil Rays 14, Athletics 6: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Scott Kazmir won his second straight start as Tampa Bay beat Oakland.

Rangers 7, Royals 3: At Arlington, Texas, Richard Hidalgo homered for the fourth time in four games, Pedro Astacio pitched seven solid innings and Texas beat Kansas City for its fifth straight win.

Yankees 4, Tigers 2: At New York, Derek Jeter made a spectacular tumbling catch while colliding into teammate Robinson Cano in the seventh to protect Chien-Ming Wang’s lead in the New York’s win over Detroit.

White Sox 4, Angels 2: At Anaheim, Calif., Freddy Garcia pitched eight strong innings to lead Chicago to a win over Los Angeles.

National League

Reds 12, Nationals 3: At Cincinnati, Ryan Freel had four hits, including his first home run since Sept. 5, to lead Cincinnati and emergency starter Matt Belisle over Washington for a three-game sweep.

Brewers 11, Rockies 1: At Milwaukee, Gary Glover bounced back from the worst outing of his career and Milwaukee completed a three-game sweep of Colorado with a rout paced by Bill Hall’s four RBIs.

Astros 5, Cubs 1: At Chicago, Brandon Backe outpitched Greg Maddux, and Morgan Ensberg hit a go-ahead homer as Houston broke a seven-game losing streak by beating Chicago.

Braves 3, Mets 0: At Atlanta, rookie Kyle Davies was impressive in his home debut and Atlanta shut out New York for the second straight night, completing a three-game sweep.

Cardinals 11, Pirates 5: At St. Louis, Mark Mulder won his seventh straight decision and Yadier Molina had career bests by going 4 for 4 with four RBIs, helping St. Louis beat Pittsburgh to complete a three-game sweep.

Phillies 8, Marlins 5: At Miami, Randy Wolf got a rare win against Florida, leading Philadelphia to a victory that stopped the Marlins’ longest winning streak of the season at six games.

Giants 10, Dodgers 2: At San Francisco, Pedro Feliz and Moises Alou hit two homers apiece and Brett Tomko pitched eight innings of five-hit ball as San Francisco defeated Los Angeles for its fourth straight victory.

Diamondbacks 12, Padres 11: At Phoenix, Royce Clayton drove in three runs, two on an eighth-inning single, and Arizona beat San Diego in a seesaw game.
