Knights beat Oceanic, win Memorial Cup
LONDON, Ontario – Adam Dennis made 27 saves, and Danny Fritsche had a goal and two assists to help the London Knights beat the Rimouski Oceanic 4-0 on Sunday for their first Memorial Cup title.
David Bolland, Rob Schremp and Bryan Rodney also scored for the Ontario Hockey League champion Knights, who went 59-2 in the regular season, 79-9-2 overall.
Rimouski’s Sidney Crosby, the Canadian Hockey League’s leading scorer and most valuable player, was held off the scoresheet for the first time in the tournament.
