Grading the Cougs

The Spokesman-Review

Quarterback: B-

A neutral game for Brink – didn’t help much, didn’t hurt much.

Running back: A

Harrison continues to dazzle; rarely do running backs make so many yards look so easy.

Wide receivers: B

Harvey finds his way in the final weeks of a collegiate career.

Offensive line: B

Pass protection was iffy at times, but Yarno’s crew has been solid all season long.

Defensive line: C-

Had little effect, save for one turnover, and just didn’t pressure Carpenter enough.

Linebackers: C+

Some effective blitzing, with no effective pass coverage underneath.

Secondary: C-

The team’s primary weakness struggled again, though credit for a couple of nice red-zone plays.

Special teams: C-

Tough to knock Langley for missed FGs, but it’s easy to wonder how a kick returner gets to the 7.

Coaching: C-

Nice halftime adjustments, but few will forget the dubious decision to take tying points off the board.

Overall: C+
