St. David’s will offer musical workshops
St. David’s Episcopal Church, 7315 N. Wall St., is hosting Kristopher Lindquist, a composer, church musician and organist Friday and Saturday in a series of musical workshops.
On Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Lindquist will discuss songs that are appropriate for meditative or alternative worship services.
The Saturday workshop is from 9 a.m. to noon and will discuss new music that is now available for formal liturgical services.
The workshops are for those interested in singing as a part of prayer or corporate worship, and worship leaders and musicians.

Fund-raisers
“ Unitarian Universalist Church of Spokane, 4340 W. Fort George Wright Drive, is hosting the United Nations Association in a Night of a Thousand Dinners Potluck on Monday at 6 p.m.
The event is to raise awareness of the problems land mines cause in more than a third of the countries of the world.
Guests are invited to bring a dish to share for dinner, and there is a suggested minimum donation of $10 at the door.

“ The Southside Senior Activity Center, 3151 E. 27th Ave., is the site for the seventh annual penny auction and luncheon to benefit the missions, special needs and music programs of Moran Methodist Church Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Bags of auction tickets will be sold for $2, $5 or $10, and there will be gift baskets and donations from area businesses for sale.
Lunch will include submarine sandwiches, chips, beverages and dessert.

Heritage Congregational Church, 1801 E. 29th Ave., is hosting a community pancake breakfast Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m.
The purpose of the breakfast is to strengthen ties in the community.

Fall festivals
Trinity United Methodist Church, 1725 E. Bridgeport Ave., is presenting its annual fall festival today at 4:30 p.m.
Homemade crafts, gifts and baked goods will be for sale, and a turkey dinner will be served at 5 p.m.
The cost for the dinner is $7.50 for adults, $3.50 for children 6 to 12 years old and $1.50 for children under 6.

“ Kari Wagler is offering a workshop, Angel Guidance, next Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Providence Center for Faith and Healing at Sacred Heart Medical Center, 101 W. Eighth Ave.

Spokane Christian Singles is offering two opportunities for speed dating for single Catholics and Protestants.
