Goodwill Industries – needs clerical and administrative help for the Going Home Initiative, designed to address the needs of juvenile and young adult offenders returning to their communities across the state. Duties may include coordinating weekly and monthly meetings, answering telephone calls, filing, typing and assisting the community adviser and other program staff with volunteer recruitment and program and resource development. Crosswalk – is looking for evening program volunteers to work one night per week from 5-9 p.m. Volunteers will provide support and supervision for homeless and at-risk teenagers, ages 13-17; includes dinner and recreation time with teens. Crosswalk also needs a receptionist to work Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. or 1-5 p.m., clothing room attendants with flexible schedules to sort donations and help youth select clothing, and janitors to help with cleaning and maintenance. Alzheimer’s Association – Inland Northwest Chapter – needs volunteers three hours per week to provide callers, who are coping with dementia related issues, with information and referrals to community services and agencies, and reassurance and emotional support. Children’s Museum of Spokane – needs a skilled handy-person to help with general museum maintenance and to help with special projects. Duties may include painting, electrical, carpentry and cleaning. Spokane Tax-Aide – is looking for a volunteer district coordinator to implement the American Association of Retired Persons Internal Revenue Service free income tax counseling program plans from September through May in the Spokane area. Job duties include recruiting, appointing, training, supervising, and evaluating local site coordinators, instructors, communication coordinators and technology coordinators. Applicants must have or gain knowledge of all procedures associated with the Tax-Aide program; familiarity with tax procedures is helpful but not required.
