Unranked Gators top Syracuse
Taurean Green had 23 points and keyed a late second-half run to lead Florida (4-0) to a 75-70 victory over No. 16 Syracuse (3-1) in the championship game of the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic on Friday night in New York.
Florida trailed 62-60 with 6:43 left before it went on a 12-0 run. Green, named tournament MVP, had eight points during that span.

(23) Indiana 99, Nicholls St. 65: At Bloomington, Ind., Marco Killingsworth had 28 points and 13 rebounds and Marshall Strickland added 25 points to lead the Hoosiers to a season-opening win over the Colonels.
(24) Maryland 111, Fairleigh Dickinson 85: At College Park, Md., Mike Jones had 22 points off the bench, and the Terrapins had five other players score in double figures in a season-opening rout of the Knights (1-2).
E. Michigan 67, California 65: John Bowler totaled 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Eagles past the Bears in a season opener in Ypsilanti, Mich.
