Sonics slip by Kings

Ray Allen scored 21 of his 28 points in the second half, and used a fortunate slap from teammate Danny Fortson in the third period to rally host Seattle to its third straight win, 106-104 over Sacramento.

Sacramento center Brad Miller missed two free throws with 26.8 seconds remaining and the Sonics ahead 103-101. Luke Ridnour made two free throws seconds later to give Seattle a four-point lead.

Kings guard Mike Bibby answered with a 3-point basket with 16.5 seconds left. Then Allen made one of two free throws. On the Kings’ final possession, Bibby missed a contested 3-pointer with 1.9 seconds remaining.

Peja Stojakovic led Sacramento with 25 points – all in the first half – before a third-period hand injury after being slapped on the hand by Fortson led to Allen and Seattle taking over the game.

Clippers 113, Warriors 101: Elton Brand had 32 points and 10 rebounds, Corey Maggette added 24 points and Los Angeles beat visiting Golden State.

Nuggets 99, Grizzlies 83: Marcus Camby had 21 points and 21 rebounds to lead Denver past Memphis, the Nuggets’ 17th straight victory at Pepsi Center under coach George Karl and 16th consecutive home win over the Grizzlies.

Pacers 85, Rockets 74: Ron Artest scored 24 points to help Indiana beat Houston in Indianapolis.

Raptors 107, Heat 94: The Raptors won their first game of the season by beating first-place Miami at home, ending Toronto’s longest losing streak since 2003.

Knicks 103, Trail Blazers 92: Stephon Marbury scored a season-high 27 points as New York beat Portland, giving coach Larry Brown his first Knicks victory at Madison Square Garden.

Marbury’s cousin Sebastian Telfair had a career-high 27 points for the Blazers in his return home.

Bulls 96, Lakers 93: Chris Duhon scored 11 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter and Chicago beat the Lakers in Los Angeles despite 43 points by Kobe Bryant.
