Join Walk Across Washington Oct. 9

The Spokesman-Review

Valley residents can join their neighbors for a stroll along the Centennial Trail Oct. 9 as cities across the state host Walk Across Washington, a free event to promote physical fitness.

“This is our first year,” said city spokeswoman Carolbelle Branch.

The Association of Washington Cities started the program three years ago, and it will take place in more than 80 towns and cities across the state.

The city of Spokane will hold walks at two locations on Oct. 14.

Starting at 1 p.m., Valley walkers will head out on a three-mile trek that starts at Mirabeau Point Park. They also will receive training tips and a personal walking program.
