Ski readers rank Deer Valley No. 1 in U.S.

Deer Valley in Utah has won the top spot in Ski Magazine’s annual guide to the top 50 North American ski resorts after coming in second last year.

Vail, Colo., ranks No. 2 on the list in the magazine’s October issue, heading a total of five Colorado resorts in the top 10.

Vail is followed by Whistler/Blackcomb, B.C.; Snowmass, Colo.; Park City, Utah; Beaver Creek, Colo.; Breckenridge, Colo.; Aspen, Colo.; Mammoth Mountain, Calif.; and Sun Valley, Idaho.

Among a separate list for East Coast resorts, Tremblant, in Quebec, Canada, ranked No. 1 for the ninth consecutive year.

More than 20,000 Ski Magazine subscribers who have skied the resorts for the past two seasons are surveyed by an independent research firm for the list.
