Can you make a pile of old clothes and a few handfuls of hay look like your favorite pop star or historical figure?

Or are you the creative type who likes to scare the crows away with something a little more avant-garde?

Well, show us what you can do. We’re looking for the best-dressed scarecrows in the area. If you’re a winner, your straw-filled creation will appear in the October 27 issue of Home - our weekly home and garden section, which comes out every Thursday.

Before you start stuffing, here are the details:

Homemade only please - no store-bought scarecrows allowed. Don’t shake the stuffing out of your scarecrow. Keep it around until after we judge, we may ask for a closer look before we declare you a winner.

Enter your scarecrow in one of the following categories: Celebrity, historical figure or avant-garde. One entry per family, please.

Make sure we have your name, address and a daytime phone number where you can be reached. Mail or e-mail a photograph of your scarecrow to:
