Workshop covers local governments
Kootenai County Commissioner Gus Johnson, Post Falls Mayor Clay Larkin and other officials will speak Monday about how local governments make planning decisions.
The public workshop is sponsored by the Kootenai Environmental Alliance and the League of Women Voters of Kootenai County. Hayden Planning Director Lisa Key and former Coeur d’Alene Planning Commission member Susie Snedaker also are on the panel.
This is the fourth in a series of eight free workshops in September and October to teach people how to participate in and understand local land-use planning.
The workshop is at 3:30 p.m. Monday on the Coeur d’Alene campus of the University of Idaho, 1000 W. Hubbard.
For more information, call KEA at 667-9093 or Joyce Bergan with the League of Women Voters at 699-5198.

Work will close lanes on westbound I-90
Westbound Interstate 90 will be reduced to one lane today as crews move traffic over to new concrete lanes between Sullivan and Argonne roads.
The westbound Sullivan loop on-ramp and the westbound Pines Road off-ramp will be closed today as well. Other ramps may be closed intermittently.
Crews must move the temporary traffic barrier and fix lane markings.
This is one of the final phases of the two-year project.
The entire project is scheduled to be completed in November.
