Olerud curse of BoSox

Since early last century the Boston Red Sox lived under the dark cloud of “The Curse of the Bambino” for selling Babe Ruth to the N.Y. Yankees.

This year, due to a battered lineup, they brought in a new 21st-century curse. The curse’s name is John Olerud. The Red Sox were doomed from the moment they signed him.

Please note his teams’ postseason records since the beginning of this century:

2000 – First base, Seattle Mariners, lost in the ALCS.

2001 – First base, Seattle Mariners, lost in the ALCS.

2002 – First base, Seattle Mariners, never made playoffs.

2003 – First base, Seattle Mariners, never made playoffs.

2004 – First base, N.Y. Yankees, lost in the ALCS.

2005 – First base, Boston Red Sox, swept by White Sox in ALDS.

I hate to put it this way, WSU fans, but the Red Sox “Couged it!”
