Look at my treasure!

In 1998 Dolores Grim purchased a cream and sugar set from Eldridge Antiques in Spokane. The heavy glass pieces, in the “moon and stars” pattern, were just what she was looking for.

“I bought them because they were oversized,” Grim wrote.

Each year Grim grows Blackcap berries and makes jelly and syrup from the ripe berries. She uses the heavy glass creamer and sugar dish to serve her homemade goodies.

In September, Grim’s sister-in-law, her husband Howard’s sister, gave them a candy dish that had been in the family for many years.

“My husband remembers it from when he was a little boy,” Grim wrote. “His mother kept needles and thread in it.”

The candy dish is the same pattern as Grim’s cream and sugar set.

“I now keep all three pieces in my china closet,” she wrote. “As one of our favorite treasures.”
