Dogtoberfest Dog Jog – The Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service (SCRAPS) is presenting this two-mile jog or walk to celebrate October Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog month. Susan Rae’s Animal Fair – Third annual event. Valentine’s Performing Pigs will be at this fair, and the first 100 kids through the door each day will get a free Madagascar hissing cockroach with permission from the parents, of course. Pet Wellness Fair – The Pet Vet Hospital and Wellness Center is to inform pet owners about the aging process of pets and the importance of twice-yearly examinations. The event will include a pet Halloween costume contest. Oct. 22. 12-4 p.m., 510 S. Sullivan Road, Spokane Valley. 928-PETS (7387).

Halloween Picture Fund Raiser for Therapy Pets – Therapy Pets serve Mini-Cassia and is a small nonprofit group of volunteers that take out pets to visit at nine local facilities in the Mini-Cassia area.
