Colville surprises Pullman
Morgan Bassett had nine kills, including two at the end of the third and final game, as Colville’s volleyball team handed Pullman (9-1) its first Great Northern League loss of the year, sweeping the Greyhounds 25-20, 26-24, 25-23 at Colville on Saturday.
The Indians (6-4 in league) trailed Pullman 8-1 and 19-12 in the third game, but Brianna House served four straight points to even the score at 22 before Bassett completed the sweep.
In other GNL play, Brooke Schanzenbach had five kills, 17 digs and two blocks as Chewelah (6-4) swept Medical Lake (1-8) 25-18, 28-26, 25-15 at Medical Lake.
Girls soccer
Emily Kern had a goal and an assist as Medical Lake (8-6, 6-4, 16 points) twice rallied from a goal down to beat Lakeside (6-9, 5-6, 15 points) 3-2 in a shootout in GNL action at Medical Lake. … In other GNL play, Shae Spicer scored twice, and Kayte Holm had a goal and an assist as Riverside (8-5, 7-3, 23 points) beat Deer Park (7-7, 5-5, 15 points) 4-1 at Riverside. … Cory Druffel had a hat trick, and Katie Spangenberg scored twice as Pullman (14-1, 11-0, 32 points) routed Chewelah (1-13, 0-11, 1 point) 6-0 at Pullman.

Ryan Skier made 36 saves and Ryno Linder and Evan Witt each had two assists as the Spokane Braves shut out the Revelstoke Grizzlies 3-0 in Kootenay International Junior Hockey League action at Planet Ice.
