Pot plants seized from two homes on E. Nora

The Spokesman-Review

Spokane County detectives seized 59 marijuana plants from a Spokane Valley home Tuesday, which was considered a substantial drug bust.

But a neighbor had a bonus for the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office drug team, officials said. An additional 42 plants were growing in a house across the street.

David W. Storer, 48, was booked into Spokane County Jail on a felony charge of manufacturing a controlled substance, Spokane Valley police spokesman Cpl. Dave Reagan said. The marijuana was being grown in the basement of his home at 7921 E. Nora Ave.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Support Unit served a search warrant at the home about 11:40 a.m. after several months of investigation, officials said. Storer lives at the home with his wife. It was unknown if his wife would face criminal charges.

In addition to the plants, detectives also seized several bags of marijuana leaves, a Pontiac Grand Prix, two .22-caliber rifles, two 30.06-caliber rifles and a double-barreled shotgun, Reagan said.

While the drug unit was at Storer’s home, the neighbor walked over to tell them “they might as well take his 42 plants while they were in the area,” Reagan said. The detectives seized the marijuana plants but did not immediately arrest the neighbor.
