Andreah Weitz has been hired as a production designer at Anderson Mraz Designs. She is a 2000 graduate of Spokane Falls Community College and previously worked as a graphic designer at Mountain Gear.

Exit Real Estate-Jones & Associates has hired Lilia Vega as a Realtor. She previously worked at Keller Williams Realty Spokane.

Teresa Edie has been hired as a teller at PrimeSource Credit Union. She previously worked at Nordstrom.

A Nu-Yu Salon & Spa has hired Amber Rubin. She is a licensed esthetician and specializes in eyebrow waxing and eyelash extensions. Rubin is a graduate of Glen Dow Academy.

John Overby has been hired at Spokane Intercollegiate Research & Technology Institute as the technology incubation manager. He previously worked as director of the Idaho Small Business Development Center at North Idaho College.

First American Title in Coeur d’Alene has hired Annette Garber as an escrow officer.

Cancer Care Northwest has hired Lisa Kyle as a medical records technician. She previously worked in medical records at Spokane Respiratory.

PROMOTED

Jinny Piskel has been promoted to assistant director of the Graduate School of Business at Gonzaga University. She holds a master’s of business administration from Gonzaga and previously worked as the marketing specialist at the school.

Matt Jacoby has been promoted to associate at Bernardo-Wills Architects. He has been with the firm since April 2004 and is a graduate of the University of Idaho.

Cancer Care Northwest has promoted Rexanne Glocking to a full-time registered float nurse. She has been with the organization since March.

KUDOS

Mark Allen, a staff physical therapist at VNA Home Health Care Services, has been certified as a geriatric clinical specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists.

Kathie O’Brien, an instructor at the North Idaho College Business and Office Technology, has been named the 2005 Idaho Postsecondary Business Teacher of the Year by the Idaho Business Education Association.

The South Hill Ace Hardware store and the Spokane Valley Ace Hardware store each have been awarded an Ace Hardware Vision 21 Award of Excellence plaque. The stores received this award from Ace Hardware Corp.

The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Seattle District has selected Jerry Burton as the 2005 Minority Small Business Person of the Year. He owns Burton Construction and has been in business in Spokane since 1978.

Sir Speedy International has awarded Rex and Barbara Reed the Century Club Award. The Reeds are the owners of the Sir Speedy at 617 N. Fancher and received this award for their customer service, industry leadership and commitment to advanced technologies.

Romney & Associates has been certified as a Microsoft Small Business Specialist.

GIFTS

The Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants has awarded Josh Cline its CPA Foundation and Chapter scholarship. Cline is attending Eastern Washington University and is studying accounting.

The Principal Financial Group and the Principal Financial Group Foundation have donated $12,000 during the second quarter of 2005 to the following organizations: The Foundation for Private Enterprise, Independent Colleges of Washington, and the American Cancer Society to benefit its Relay for Life.
