Suspected bank robber got dye pack with cash
A suspected bank robber literally saw red, Spokane Valley police say.
The man who robbed the U.S. Bank branch at 9208 E. Sprague earlier this week may have been stained with bright red dye after a teller’s dye pack exploded inside his vehicle.
The suspect was given the dye pack along with the money he demanded during the afternoon robbery. Police later found the pack at the Argonne/Cataldo intersection.
Police are still searching for suspect, a white male with a medium build and a beard, believed to be between 20 and 30 years old.
He was wearing a blue jacket over a light-colored shirt and a green-and-white baseball cap with a round or oval logo.
Witnesses did not see the suspect get into a vehicle, but reported seeing a black pickup or sport utility truck in the bank’s parking lot during the robbery.
Anyone with information can call 242-TIPS or 911 if he or she knows the suspect’s location.
