Colfax’s 25-13 football loss to 2A Riverside was the league’s first loss of the season, which is even more impressive considering the league has only played one 1A school thus far this year (Kettle Falls’ 27-7 win at Brewster). In addition to KF’s win over 2A Chewelah two weeks ago, Freeman opened its season with a 10-3 win over 2A Deer Park Friday and Newport beat visiting Priest River, a 3A school from Idaho, 14-9.
