Vikings knock off Bengals

Jami Anderson had 10 kills as Coeur d’Alene upended Lewiston 25-13, 19-25, 25-17, 25-17 in Inland Empire League volleyball action Thursday in Coeur d’Alene.

Rachael Moore had six blocks and nine kills for the Vikings (5-4, 3-1). The Bengals fell to 9-4, 2-3.

In other IEL action, Melissa Duncan and Tracy Nielsen each had nine kills and Danielle Jacobson had 13 aces as Lakeland (3-3, 1-3) beat Post Falls 25-20, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23 at Post Falls.

•Hannah Nyrop registered 11 kills as Kootenai (6-2, 4-0) beat host Lakeside (2-6, 1-3) in North Star League action at Harrison. … Also in the NSL, Katie Hoye led Post Falls Christian (2-5, 1-2) with six kills en route to a 3-0 sweep at Mullan (0-9, 0-4).

Washington prep football

Mike Guske racked up 154 yards rushing on 24 carries and scored a pair of touchdown as Shadle Park scored in all phases of the game and turned a 21-point second quarter into a 41-20 win over North Central in Greater Spokane League football action at Shadle Park.

The Highlanders (3-0, 2-0) also got a special teams touchdown, a kickoff return from Justin Oliveri, and a defensive score, an interception return from Zach Humphrey.

Eddie Depaolo caught a 32-yard touchdown pass, 1 of 2 thrown by quarterback Greg Conley, and returned a blocked punt 25 yards for a score for the Indians (0-3, 0-2).
