The B’s
Bi-County: The league volleyball season begins tonight when Liberty (3-6) plays at Valley Christian (2-11). Undefeated Sprague-Harrington (9-0) hasn’t dropped a game. Reardan hasn’t lost either, starting out 7-0. Davenport, the State B runner-up last year, is 2-2, but that includes four- and five-game losses to the NEA favorite Colfax. Panorama: The league volleyball season gets rolling with a match tonight and four on Saturday. Curlew is the favorite, losing only one senior from the Panorama’s lone State B representative last season.
Northeast B-11: Fifth-ranked Davenport football (2-0, 1-0), coming off a 24-14 upset of Lind-Ritzville, travels to Spangle to face No. 6 Liberty (1-1, 1-1) in the league’s marquee game.
Southeast B-11: Tekoa-Oakesdale/ Rosalia football (0-2) will travel to Ritzville, where the reigning state champion Lind-Ritzville Broncos (1-1) will look to make a statement after a loss to Davenport.
Southeast B-8: In SEB-8 openers, LaCrosse-Washtucna (3-0) will look to build on its State B record 38-game winning streak against St. John-Endicott (1-1) in LaCrosse, Colton/Pullman Christian (3-0) hosts Prescott (0-2), and Jubilee Academy (2-1) travels to Pasco to face Tri-Cities Prep (3-0).
Whitman County: Rosalia volleyball (2-0) handed Garfield-Palouse (1-1) its first league loss since Tekoa-Oakesdale in 2002 – a 33-match streak – and its first home loss since 2001 in a five-game thriller Tuesday night at Palouse. The Vikings will look to rebound tonight against Asotin (0-3).
