YOUR BEAUTIFUL HOME

Jessica Wambach home@spokesman.com

8322 N. Glenarvon Lane, Newman Lake

Judy Cocking may describe the inside of her Newman Lake home as plain, but it’s not exactly normal.

The interior cabinets are fashioned from bubinga, an exotic red hardwood that comes from the same place as most of the 35 stuffed animals on her husband Duane’s trophy room walls – Africa.

Duane has traveled all over the world to hunt, including at least seven trips to Africa. Part of the reason they built the house five years ago was to accommodate his many trophies.

Although they retired from the lumber business more than 10 years ago, Duane and Judy basically built the 5,200-square-foot home themselves.

“We had it framed and pretty much took it from there,” she says.

The central part of the house has a second story that’s made almost entirely of windows, adding another unique feature to an already extraordinary home and yard.

“Duane’s put in a pretty little garden area with plants and rock walls and some nice landscaping,” Judy says.
