Two Washington State University men’s basketball players have not practiced with the team so far because of back issues.

Swingman Rodney Edgerson, a junior college transfer from Illinois, is out indefinitely. Sophomore center Chris Henry could be back within the next week after recuperating from his back troubles.

Notes

Sophomore forward Daven Harmeling suffered a freak ankle injury in the weight room that will keep him sidelined for at least a month. … Freshman center Aron Baynes from Australia could return as early as Monday from an ankle injury. … Junior college transfer Ivory Clark has a groin pull that held him out of practices this week. Clark is day-to-day, but the injury situation has left WSU shorthanded in practices. … The women’s team spent three hours at a local grocery store Friday afternoon helping raise money for a Louisiana family affected by Hurricane Katrina. The Cougars have “adopted” the Slidell, La., family and plan to spend the season collecting donations for them.
