Clippers beat Suns

Elton Brand had 34 points and 15 rebounds, and the Los Angeles Clippers kept alive their faint Pacific Division title hopes with a 119-105 win over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night at Phoenix.

The Clippers are five games behind the first-place Suns with eight to play. The Suns could have all but locked up the division title with a win.

•Phoenix All-Star forward Amare Stoudemire had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and won’t play again this season. The operation followed a comeback that lasted three games. He missed the first 66 games of the season after surgery on his left knee.

Trail Blazers 76, Rockets 75: At Portland, Sebastian Telfair hit a jumper with 27.7 seconds to go as Portland defeated Houston to snap an 11-game losing streak.

Hornets 114, Warriors 109 (OT): At Oklahoma City, Chris Paul got his second triple-double in three games and set up Kirk Snyder’s go-ahead alley-oop dunk in overtime as New Orleans beat Golden State to remain two games behind Sacramento in the playoff race.

Kings 97, Spurs 87: At San Antonio, Mike Bibby had 31 points and eight assists, and Sacramento helped its playoff hopes with a win over San Antonio.

Knicks 96, Cavaliers 94: At New York, Jamal Crawford scored a season-high 37 points, including the go-ahead jumper with 6.4 seconds left, and New York withstood a huge fourth quarter from LeBron James (21 points) to beat Cleveland.

Bulls 99, 76ers 92: At Philadelphia, Andre Nocioni scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, and Ben Gordon had 21 points as Chicago defeated Philadelphia to move into the eighth and final playoff spot in the East, one-half game ahead of the Sixers.

Magic 108, Bucks 105: At Orlando, Fla., Hedo Turkoglu had 24 points, including two key last-minute free throws and a steal, and Orlando eked out a win over Milwaukee despite T.J. Ford’s career-high 34 points.

Pacers 111, Raptors 103: At Indianapolis, Peja Stojakovic and Stephen Jackson scored 25 points each, and Indiana held on to beat Toronto.

Hawks 101, Timberwolves 99: At Atlanta, Josh Childress delivered the game-winning basket as time expired to give Atlanta a win that extended Minnesota’s road drought to almost two months.

Wizards 108, Celtics 91: At Boston, Gilbert Arenas scored 38 points and Caron Butler added 26, leading Washington over Boston.
