Police say man stole teens’ pot
The charge: first-degree robbery.
The stolen item: 10 grams of marijuana.
The suspect: an 18-year-old who thought he pulled one over on two 16-year-old drug dealers.
The catch: Police were nearby.
According to Spokane Valley Police, two 16-year-olds met the Vancouver, Wash., resident in a McDonald’s on North Sullivan Road on Saturday afternoon.
The teens agreed to get the man marijuana, Spokane Valley Police Department spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan said. They said they would meet him about 7:30 p.m.
“The three met, but instead of paying for the drug, the man grabbed the marijuana and ran,” Reagan said.
The 16-year-olds chased the man to a nearby motel, where all three were met by police.
Roderick Luther King, 18, was booked on first-degree robbery charges, Reagan said. The two 16-year-olds were booked into the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center on drug charges.
