Great Northern League: Colville got RBI singles from James Gussler and Trevor Fox in the top of the seventh Saturday to earn a 7-6 win in the opener of a doubleheader against Chewelah (1-8, 1-6) that was moved to Colville because of bad weather in Chewelah. Justin Holloway went 3 for 3 with a run scored for the Indians (6-4, 6-4). In the second game, Colville completed the sweep with a 6-3 victory. Fox was perfect in three innings of relief work, and Steven Miles had a two-run single in the third to lead the Indians. … Lakeside’s doubleheader at Deer Park was postponed by rainy weather. The games will be made up Monday. … Riverside had its doubleheader with visiting Medical Lake rained out. No makeup date was announced.

Great Northern League: Christina Tommeraasen gave up two hits and one run and struck out seven as Colville (7-0, 6-0) beat Deer Park 21-1 in three innings to complete a doubleheader sweep at Deer Park (1-7, 0-5). In the opener, Jordan Emmil struck out 12 and went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 RBIs as Colville won 25-3 in five innings. … Lacey Jordan went 3 for 3 with a pair of RBIs and also picked up the win as host Lakeside (2-7, 1-4) scored six times in the fifth – all with two outs – to win the opener of a doubleheader with Medical Lake 6-3 at Nine Mile Falls. Track and field

Caitlin McGrane won the 200 meters and set a meet record in winning the 400 to lead Colville to the girls team title at the Freeman Invitational at Central Valley High School. McGrane won the 200 in 26.8 seconds and set a meet record in the 400, finishing in 59.8 seconds as the Indians totaled 108 team points, well ahead of second-place Mead (62.5). On the boys’ side, Nick Puckett won the 200 and 400 dashes as Timberlake won the team title. Puckett finished the 200 in 23.4 and the 400 in 50.6 as the Tigers finished with 103 points, 18 ahead of second-place CV. … Bryce Derrickson won the 200 and 400 to lead the Post Falls JV boys to the team title at the Priest River Invite at Priest River High School. Derrickson won the 200 in 23.20 and the 400 in 51.80 as the Trojans finished with 152 team points, 36 ahead of second-place Priest River. On the girls’ side, Amanda Corning won the 100 high hurdles and the 300 low hurdles to lead Priest River to the team title. Corning won the 100 hurdles in 18.23 and the 300 hurdles in 54.20 as Priest River finished with 134 team points, five ahead of second-place Kellogg. … Kootenai got a first- and second-place finish in the boys high jump as the Warriors took the team competition at the Coeur d’Alene Charter Invite at Lake City High School. Colten Williams cleared 5 feet, 4 inches, and teammate Bruno Mayne cleared 5-2 to register 18 of Kootenai’s 91 points, seven ahead of Lake City JV. On the girls’ side, Lakeside got a 1-2-3 finish in the shot put to take home the team title. Rian Miller threw 29-2 1/2 to earn first place, Vicki Sifford threw 25-6 to take second and Liz Lampert was third with a throw of 24-5 as Lakeside finished with 89 team points, four ahead of second-place Lake City JV.
