Northwest Crank, April 28-May 1: Based in Wenatchee, featuring a variety of loosely organized long-distance rides organized by the Seattle International Randonneurs. Randonneuring is long-distance unsupported endurance cycling in a tradition that goes back to the beginning of the sport of cycling in France and Italy. This is a prep for the June 24-27 Cascade 1200, four-day 767-miler.

Tour d’Alene, June 3: Ride 2.7, 15.3 or 33 miles on Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes starting from Plummer. Participants must get minimum pledges, $19 for youths, $56 for adults, for youth diabetes campaign. Info: 624 7478.

Wenatchee Sunrise Rotary Apple Century, June 3: Ride 50 or 100 miles starting from Walla Walla Point Park in Wenatchee. Info: www.applebikeride.com.

Tour of the Swan River Valley, June 10-11: Ride 200 or 260 miles starting from Missoula, with option for 116-mile one-day tour starting from Potomac. Info: www.missoulabike.org.

Ride Around the Pioneers in One Day, June 24: Ride 157-mile loop from Dillon, Mont. Info: www.ratpod.com.

Tour of the Coeur d’Alenes, July 8: Routes range from 28 to 130 miles on the rail trail between Plummer and Mullan.

Seatle to Portland, July 15-16: Ride 200 miles, fully supported. The largest of the region’s cycling events with up to 9,000 riders. Tight schedule? You can ride all 200 miles in one day. Info: www.cascade.org.

Eight Lakes Leg Aches, Aug. 5: Ride 30-, 50-, and 80-mile routes around lakes in Spokane County to fight leukemia.

Tour de Coeur, Sept. 9: Ride easy 20 miles on Centennial Trail or 30 miles with doozie climbs along Lake Coeur d’Alene.
