DUI forces liquor board director to resign
PORTLAND – The administrator of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission resigned Thursday, five days after being arrested and charged with drunken driving.
Lonn Hoklin, spokesman for Democratic Gov. Ted Kulongoski, said Teresa Kaiser e-mailed her resignation to members of the OLCC board of directors Thursday morning.
Police spokesman Detective Paul Dolbey said Kaiser was stopped Saturday night near Portland’s Ross Island bridge. He said her blood alcohol level was measured at .16 percent, twice the legal limit for driving in Oregon.
Kaiser assumed the post Sept. 15, 2003, after several years with Maryland’s child support enforcement office.
