Coug tickets on sale
PULLMAN – Single-game tickets for Washington State University home football games, excluding the Apple Cup, go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. today online.
WSU has at least 6,000 seats left for the available games against Idaho, USC, California, Oregon and Arizona. The Cougars are also still trying to boost season-ticket sales, which are lagging behind the record totals of the previous two years.
As of Friday afternoon, WSU has 13,796 season tickets out, according to Dan Meyer, the school’s director of ticket operations. In 2004, the Cougars set the high-water mark with 15,424 season tickets, followed by last year’s 14,679, a drop the school attributed to the Apple Cup being on the road.
Meyer said season-ticket sales would continue past the first home game against Idaho, so the final numbers on this year’s total won’t be known for some time.
For the single-game tickets, Meyer said the school decided to open up online sales first at wsucougars.com, with phone and in-person purchases becoming available at 10 a.m. Monday. Apple Cup tickets, currently offered only to season-ticket holders, will go on sale to the general public on Oct. 7.
“Availability is pretty solid for all of the games except USC,” Meyer said of the games going on sale today.
Meyer said WSU has sold about 25,000 tickets for the Baylor Game, Sept. 16 in Seattle’s Qwest Field.
